By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 7: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Wednesday confirmed 1,684 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley. This is the highest number of cases recorded by the Valley in a single day.
In 14,209 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,684 persons, 691 females and 993 males, were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the Valley itself, revealed the daily report released by the MoHP today.
Of the 1,684 new cases, 1,296 cases including 518 females and 778 males were detected in Kathmandu, 95 cases including 43 females and 52 males were found in Bhaktapur and 293 cases including 130 females and 163 males were recorded in Lalitpur.
On October 2, the Valley had reported 1,638 cases of novel coronavirus infection.
Moreover, some 3,439 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed across the nation on Wednesday, taking the national tally to 94,253 including 68,668 cases of recovery and 578 death cases.
