Janakpurdham, Apr. 4: A three-day Janakpurdham Literature, Art and Drama Festival is going to be held in Janakpurdham, the capital of Madhes Province.
The festival will be held from April 6 to 8, said Jivanath Chaudhary, chairman of Maithili Development Fund.
In the three-day literary festival, experts from Maithili language, literature, art, culture and other subjects of Nepal and India will be invited to determine the issues to be dealt at the policy level, said the organisers.
Ten different topics will be discussed in the festival and three drama groups from India and two from Nepal will perform at the festival.
It is mentioned in a press statement issued by the Fund that various people in the field of music will also participate in the festival.
The festival starts with a cultural procession at Barhabigha in Janakpurdham.
The festival will feature Mithila painting workshops and exhibitions, school-level speech competitions, discussions, story and poetry seminars, drama exhibitions and cultural programmes by artists from Nepal and India.
Former Prime Minister and chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal will inaugurate the festival organised by Maithili Development Fund.
Various people invited to the three-day festival will also be honoured and rewarded. The festival, which will start on Wednesday, will end Friday evening.
Earlier, the Fund had organised similar festival twice.
