Kathmandu, Jan. 16: National Development Action Committee (NDAC) has decided to accelerate the current pace of capital expenditure in development process that has been stalled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 48th meeting of the NDAC held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar under the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli decided to intensify development works and capital expenditure.
The meeting approved the overall review of the last fiscal year and the first four months of the current fiscal year. The meeting that was attended by the Chief Ministers, members of the National Planning Commission and officials of various ministers, decided not to halt development works under any pretext and address the problems facing by the development works promptly.
Prime Minister Oli instructed that development works should not be delayed under any pretext.
“We should not delay in fulfilling our national aspirations of ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepalis”, he said.
Now the federal, province and local governments must be active in carrying out all development activities and plans in a smooth manner, Prime Minister Oli said.
He also directed the authorities to fully comply with the government’s plans, construction standards and transparency policy.
Min Bahadur Shahi, spokesperson at the National Planning Commission, informed that the meeting had decided to include the development progress made by the provinces and local levels in the national report.
“Local and provincial governments will also be
important contributors to development, so now their progress will be included in the national report,” he said.
