Kathmandu, Dec 27 (RSS):
Today's meeting of House of Representatives has been postponed till January 1 through a notice.
The notice issued by Federal Parliament Secretariat informed about the postponement of the meeting citing special reason.
The post of Speaker has remained vacant after the then Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara on October 2 resigned from the post after facing the rape charge against a woman working at Parliament Secretariat.
The winter session of Federal Parliament began from December 4. Deputy-Speaker Dr Shibamaya Tumbahamphe had chaired the meeting of the first day of the winter session. Perhaps, it is the first incident in the parliamentary history of Nepal that the Deputy Speaker chaired the meeting and began the session.
