By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 22: Hearing on the application filed to vacate the interim order issued by the Supreme Court (SC) to not recognise the action taken against four provincial assembly members in Karnali Province by the CPN-UML 10th National Convention organising committee is taking place today.
A joint bench of SC justices Dr. Aananda Mohan Bhattarai and Hari Prasad Phuyal is hearing the case.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had registered a 'vacate application' at the Top Court demanding for cancelling of the interim order issued by the SC.
After the Karnali provincial assembly members Prakash Jwala, Kurmaraj Shahi, Nanda Singh Budha, and Amar Bahadur Thapa of CPN-UML acted against the party's whip, the committee had taken departmental action against them. Following the action, a writ petition was filed in the SC against the organising committee and the SC through its interim order had reinstated their positions as lawmakers.
A single bench of Justice Prakashman Singh Raut had issued an interim order to stop the action against those four provincial assembly members.
