The summit is being held under the theme “Research on Public Health Emergencies: Evidence to Policy and Action”.
Individuals are allowed to share their research based on any of the 30 different thematic areas mentioned by the Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) in its notice issued on Tuesday.
The areas include Public Health Emergencies; COVID-19; health workforce; universal health coverage; health policy, management, leadership, governance (stewardship) and policy evidence nexus; equity and efficiency in health system; health economics and healthcare financing; and ayurveda and other traditional and complementary medicine among others.
Likewise, the council will also be expecting abstracts on gender based violence; population and population dynamics; nutrition, food safety and security; environmental and occupational health; disabilities; innovation in health research, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR); and inherited diseases among others.
The council has also set some rules for a format of abstracts and asked scientists to have their abstract reviewed by the Ethical Review Board of the NHRC or any one of the Institutional Review Committees. There are 52 different institutions whose review would be accepted by the council.
The final date for submission of the abstracts has been set as March 23 and the 7th summit has been announced from April 10 to April 12.
The council has expected that the government would receive vast information regarding several health and population topics through scientists; and it would be helpful for formulating policies and taking necessary action.
