Kathmandu, July 27: The government has decided to bear the quarantine expenses of the deportee Nepalis and those who have been released from foreign jails while returning home.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, on Monday, took the decision to this effect.
According to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, “The Ministry of Labour would make necessary arrangements for the expenditure and the Ministry of Finance would disburse the required amount.”
The Cabinet meeting has created 35 temporary posts for the central offices of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and 21 posts for the provincial headquarters of the same Commission.
Similarly, temporary posts of 23 employees have been created for the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP). However, the tenure of those employees will be automatically revoked as soon as the terms of the Commissions expire, Minister Karki, who is also the government spokesperson, said after the Cabinet meeting.
The government has also decided to accept a loan assistance of Rs. 6 billion from the World Bank Group’s International Development Association.
The Cabinet meeting also approved the National Debt Fifth Amendment Regulation-2078 B.S. and Loan Priority and Second Market Third Amendment Regulation-2078.
Similarly, the government decided to extend the time duration of different contracts with suppliers, constructions, projects, service providers or consultants, which
had been inked before the enforcement of the prohibition order across the country on April 29 or within the prohibition clamped date with their work stalled due to the outbreak of the second wave of the COVID-19.
