Kathmandu, Jan. 23: Hearing on 13 writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) continued for the sixth consecutive day on Friday in the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court.
Ten advocates pleaded on behalf of the petitioners on Friday. By now 22 advocates completed their pleading in the bench from the side of the complainants whereas 320 other incidences were waiting for their turn.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Agni Kharel presented the Nepal Gazette consisting of the notice of the House dissolution.
Advocates on Thursday had argued no notice about the House dissolution was published in the Nepal Gazette.
Advocate Om Prakash Aryal had raised the issue during pleading on Thursday, and the Justices and other lawyers had sought the Nepal Gazette containing the notice of the House dissolution.
Kharel on Friday presented the supplement issue of the Nepal Gazette bearing the publishing date of December 20, 2019.
Advocates from defender are arguing that the move was the demand of the time and the only option left for the Prime Minister. The pleading will continue on Sunday.
