Kathmandu, Sept. 7: The government has approved the revised schedule of National Census-2078 BS.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, said the Cabinet meeting held on Monday approved the revised schedule of Census 2078 BS. Earlier, the census schedule was affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the official residence of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Baluwatar, decided to accept grant assistance of Rs. 5.54 billion to be provided by the International Development Association for the purpose of running the school sector programmes.

Similarly, the meeting has decided to accept additional concessional loan of Rs. 45.94 billion for the improvement of the health sector through the International Development Association.
The same meeting has also decided to construct a barrack for security personnel at Chhangru of Darchula.

Minister Karki said that the government decided to establish a national prize in the name of late BP Koirala of Nepali Congress.
“In respect of late BP Koirala, who fights for establishing democratic values and struggles himself as democratic warrior in all his life, the government decides to establish the BP Koirala National Prize in his name,” said Minister Karki.

Besides, it has been decided to create permanent and temporary vacancies for various government projects for the fiscal year 2078/89 BS.
Meanwhile, Minister Karki said that the current coalition government would get a full shape soon. Talking to media persons at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar today after the Cabinet meeting, Minister Karki said that the government would get a complete shape within a day with the consent of the parties involved in the alliance.

Similarly, Minister Karki said that the budget for the current fiscal year brought by the previous government through an ordinance will be amended.
He also mentioned that the government had discussed with the leader of the main opposition leader KP Sharma Oli, adding that the budget would be amended on the basis of consensus.
The then government had brought the budget for the current fiscal year through an ordinance on May 30. With just a few days to go before the federal parliament convened, the then Oli-led government recommended dissolving the House of Representatives.

The then government was widely criticized for dissolving the people’s representative body and bringing the budget through an ordinance. A writ petition was filed in the Supreme Court alleging that the dissolution of the House of Representatives was unconstitutional. The Supreme Court had on July 12 appointed Deuba as the Prime Minister.
