By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 10: Concerning the increasing threat of COVID-19 spread in Kathmandu Valley, the government has decided to halt all public transportation services until August 31.
Following the request of 'Municipality Mayor Forum', an association of mayors of all municipalities within the Valley, the government took the decision to this effect.
Likewise, the government has also decided to suspend all domestic and international flights which were scheduled to operate from August 17, informed Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, spokesperson of the government.
The meeting of the council of ministers has also decided to permit the operation of industries only after they set up quarantine facilities within their workplace and follow all the health safety protocols.
The government has also decided to enforce strict surveillance in the border areas and in Kathmandu to monitor the human movement.
