Kathmandu, Sept. 14 :Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government was serious in implementing the provisions of child rights and welfare as per the national and international laws.
In a special message given on the occasion of National Children’s Day 2076, the Prime Minister said that the implementation of the provisions of United Nations convention related to child rights; national and international commitments of the country on child rights and constitutional provisions related to child rights are the supreme priority of the government.
In memory of approval of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child by the country on the 29th of Bhadra 2047 BS, the country is celebrating the day as the National Children’s Day every year.
This year’s National Children’s Day is being celebrated with the slogan of Guaranteed Child Rights: Foundation of Prosperous Nepal.
“Our constitution has ascertained child rights as one of the fundamental rights. Article 39 of the Constitution of Nepal has guaranteed the right to education, health, upbringing and overall development of every child with appropriate care from their family and the state,” said the Prime Minister.
