Kathmandu, Nov 11: The Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has stated that it has seriously taken issues related to the Nepal-India border.
NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said, "The government has already clarified on the border issues between Nepal and India surfaced recently. We have already drawn the attention of the Indian government through the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, India."
Emerging from the meeting held at Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar on today, Spokesperson Shrestha reiterated that NCP had taken the Nepal-India border issues seriously.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on November 6 had issued a press statement and had clarified that Kalapani area is Nepal's territory.
A uproar has been erupted in Nepal over the placement of Kalapani, a place in Darchula district in Nepal, in the Indian territory in the recently-unveiled political map of India.
Asked if any decisions were regarding reshuffling of the cabinet and experts in the PM Secretariat were made in today's meeting, Shrestha responded, "This issue has not entered the meeting yet. It is entirely up to the Prime Minister to dwell and decide on it."
The meeting, held in chairmanship of NCP Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, was attended by NCP Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', NCP General-Secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Secretariat members Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Deputy-Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel, Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, Bam Dev Gautam and Spokesperson Shrestha.
