Free technical education for girls in Bagmati Province

By Our Correspondent, Hetauda, Nov. 15: The Bagmati Province government has decided to provide free technical education to the girls studying in community schools of the province.

A cabinet meeting of the province has decided this week to provide scholarships to all the girl students studying technical subjects in community schools. Students who have passed Secondary Education Examination (SEE) from community schools will be qualified for the scholarships, the cabinet decided.

Minister for Social Development Kumari Moktan informed that it has been decided to arrange scholarships for technical education in health, engineering, agriculture, and veterinary science at higher levels after passing the SEE examination from community schools.

According to Minister Moktan, it has been decided to provide scholarships to all female students studying technical subjects in community educational institutions.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting has decided to provide relief in fertilizer and wheat seeds to the farmers whose crops have been damaged by unseasonal rains.

Minister Moktan said that the government had decided to provide relief to the farmers by collecting data about crop damage due to unseasonal rains.

Earlier, the first cabinet meeting held after the appointment of Rajendra Prasad Pandey as the Chief Minister had decided to provide three-year technical education to 119 students who have passed the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) with the financial assistance of the province government.

Those 119 students are from the minority, marginalized, backward areas, and poor families of Dalit communities. The government has arranged scholarships for them to pursue technical education in health, engineering, agriculture, and veterinary science.
