Kathmandu, Sept 26 : Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka, who is in New York to attend the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations, met with Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Saturday.
On the occasion, matters related to the promotion of bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation were discussed, according to the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in New York.
The talks also focused on trade, investment, hydropower development, cross-border energy trade and other issues of mutual interest.
The foreign ministers of the two countries agreed to implement past agreements, the mission said.
Also on Saturday, Minister Khadka had a meeting with the Chairman of the 76th UN General Assembly, Abdullah Shahid. During the meeting, Minister Khadka discussed Nepal's priorities at the United Nations, world peace, security, development, human rights, UN peacekeeping missions and special assistance for underdeveloped countries.
In response, President Shahid discussed his priorities at the United Nations during his tenure and appreciated Nepal's support for his presidency.
Meanwhile, Nepal's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amrit Bahadur Rai hosted a dinner in honor of the visiting Nepali delegation led by Minister Khadka on Saturday evening, the mission said.
