FM Paudel directs to cut stock brokers’ commission

Kathmandu, Dec. 20: Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has directed officials to reduce brokers’ commission by assessing various aspects of the capital market.
In a meeting held at the Ministry of Finance Friday, Finance Minister Paudel directed the concerned authorities to prepare and implement the reduction of brokers’ commission.
"Don't delay reducing the brokers’ commission, act pro-actively," he said, according to a press statement of the Ministry of Finance.
Stating that the capital market was going to increase and expand, FM Paudel asked to solve the current problems by preparing a timetable and its proper implementation.
He also directed to complete the works mentioned in the current fiscal year's budget on time for the development of capital market.
FM Paudel also directed to prepare the laws and regulations if they need to be amended.
Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Sishir Kumar Dhungana, Revenue Secretary Ram Sharan Padasaini, Economic Advisor Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha, Chief of Financial Sector Management and Institutional Coordination Division Joint Secretary Jhakka Prasad Acharya, Chairman of Securities Board of Nepal Bhishma Raj Dhungana, Chairman of Nepal Stock Exchange Laxman Neupane, Chief Executive Officer of NEPSE Chandra Singh Saud and Chief Executive Officer of CDSC Purna Prasad Acharya were present in the meeting.
