Palpa, April 23: Members of federal parliament elected from Palpa district have asked the government to ensure provisions of treatment for COVID-19 patients in Palpa.
Lawmakers Dal Bahadur Rana and Som Prasad Pandey met with Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel and Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal urging them to setup systems for tests and treatment against the coronavirus pandemic.
The demands of the lawmakers include establishment of a special hospital in Palpa and provision for PCR tests.
Deepening surveillance in the border areas, continuing internal lockdown and managing food to those stranded individuals and sending them back home as well as facilitating and coordinating the monitoring of the relief materials from the lawmakers is needed, Rana said.
Likewise, Pandey said that establishment of a treatment centre and test in Palpa would be easier to provide service for the people of Gulmi, Syangja, Tanahun, Arghakhanchi, Nawalpur and Bagulung districts.
Meanwhile, the local levels in Palpa district have collected Rs 25 million in a fund meant for COVID-19 control.
