Kathmandu, Dec. 17: Farmullah Mansur has been elected as the joint general secretary of the Nepali Congress.
Advocate Keshab Rijal, secretary of the NC Central Election Committee, informed that Mansur has been elected as the joint general secretary from Muslim cluster. However, a formal announcement is yet to be made, said Secretary Rijal.
Farmullah was elected after defeating Sheikh Wakil in the counting of votes held at the Congress Central Party office in Sanepa on Friday morning.
Counting of votes for the post of Joint General Secretaries has been held in Sanepa today from Muslim, Madhesi, Khas, Tharu and backward clusters.
Earlier on Thursday, Dina (Mahalakshmi) Upadhyaya from the women's open, Jeevan Pariyar from the Dalit and Bhishmaraj Andembe from the Adivasi Janajati cluster had been elected as joint general secretaries.
