By Prateek Sharma 'Ichchhuk', Khalanga, Nov. 7: 12 people have been killed in a bus accident in Salyan district today. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Govinda Thapa of the District Police Office, Salyan informed The TRN Online that the death toll in the accident has reached 12 so far. The deceased have been identified as two men and 10 women. 

Among them are Prabha Chalaune, 53, of Salyan Sarada Municipality-12, currently living in Dang Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-6, Mina Dangi, 61, and Lila Budhathoki, 66, of the same municipality-2. Similarly, Mina Shahi, 24, of Salyan Triveni-1, Kavra, Duli Reule, 60, of Dang Babai Rural Municipality-4, Kala Devi Budhathoki, 70, of Panchakule, Dang Babai Rural Municipality-6, Indra Adhikari, 65, of Narayanpur, Dang Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City, Tilak Oli, 29, of Chhatreswori Rural Municipality-2 of Salyan Sabitra KC, 35, of Dang Shantinagar Rural Municipality-8 and Suraj Oli, 5, of Dang Korabang.

The bus (Ra 1 Kha 1552) heading to Tulsipur of Dang from Salyan met with an accident at Kharkhola in Kapurkot Rural Municipality-5 at around 12 noon on Sunday.

DSP Thapa said at least 20 people were injured in the accident. He said that seven of the injured have been sent to Nepalgunj for treatment while others are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Srinagar and Khalanga. Police have a preliminary estimate that the bus met with an accident due to high speed.
