Minister for Education, Science and Technology Girirajmani Pokharel has drawn the attention of the Indian Minister for Human Resources Development towards resolving soon the border dispute through diplomatic dialogue. Minister Pokharel held talks with Indian HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal during the 40th general assembly of the UNESCO in Paris, France on Friday.
Minister Pokharel is leading the Nepali delegation to the General Assembly currently underway in Paris. During the meeting, the two ministers held discussion on the matter of inclusion of Nepali territory Lipulek in the political map released by India recently, according to Minister Pokharel's private secretary Binod Neupane. Minister Pokharel stressed on deepening relations between the two countries by resolving the border dispute permanently.
Matters relating to education policy of the two countries, ayurveda education and problems faced by students were also discussed during the meeting, Neupane said.
Education Secretary Mahesh Prasad Dahal, Nepali Ambassador to France Dipak Adhikari and other members of the Nepali delegation were also present at the meeting.
