By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept. 21: The domestic flights here in Nepal resumed its services nearly after six months of being grounded due to the nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Along with the resumption of the airway services, the human movement has increased in the domestic terminal of the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA).
Amid the COVID-19 scare, the government has decided to resume only 25 per cent of the total flights that used to take place before lockdown.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the flight schedules would be increased consequently after one week.
Likewise, the airline companies have said that the number of flights would be increased on the basis of the demand and needs of the passengers.
Following the resumption of domestic flights, 70-75 per cent of the tickets of Buddha Air and Yeti Airlines have already been booked.
Although the airline companies are operating a limited number of flights, they are restricted from charging extra fare from the passengers.
