Damak, Feb. 21: Nepali Congress general secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma on Sunday said that the political parties’ top leaders were sending false massages among the people about the Millennium Corporation Challenge (MCC) compact, the US grant.

He said creating confusions for political benefit was bad for the country.
Speaking at a function organised in Arjundhara of Jhapa on the occasion of the 28th Memorial Day of late CK Prasai, Sharma said that the top leaders were spreading rumours that the US army would come to Nepal in the name of MCC.

He urged one and all not to be misguided by false messages spread to stop development activities by blocking the MCC.
Sharma asked the leaders opposing the MCC to show the points in the agreement which allows coming of the US army in Nepal.
Sharma recalled how the Arun Third project was obstructed in the beginning and how it was endorsed later on.

“The project would have been already completed had the opposition leaders known the truth in the beginning,” he said.
At the function, NC Jhapa former chair and a leader of the democratic movement Purnananda Sharma was felicitated.
