By Keshab Raj Poudel, Kathmandu, May 16: The Dhulikhel Hospital of Kavre has adopted high alert following a suspicious death of a woman who had been receiving treatment at the hospital.
The symptoms of the deceased were identical to the symptoms of COVID-19. Her swab sample has been sent to National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) for PCR test, informed Shrawan Kumar Timilsina, Chief District Officer of Kavre.
CDO Timilsina also informed that the vehicular movement had been halted at the moment in Kavre.
Following the death of COVID-19 suspected patient, the District Command Post formed to prevent COVID-19 is holding an urgent meeting at District Administration Office, Dhulikhel.
The deceased has been identified as 29 year old woman from Barabise, Sindhupalchowk, who had given birth few days earlier at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.
She was admitted to Dhulikhel hospital after being suspected to have been infected by COVID-19.
Although the hospital has said that she died while receiving treatment, it has not revealed further details as to her death.
