Sarlahi, Dec. 4: Devotees are forced to travel on risky vehicles to reach the world famous Gadhimai temple located at Bariyapur in Bara district.
A large number of devotees from Sarlahi is also visiting the temple everyday to offer animals, perform worships and attend the religious fair.
The devotees could be seen travelling on tractors in the long route risking their own life.
Pilgrims from the southern belt of Sarlahi district reach the Gadhimai temple every year. They mostly reserve tractors to reach the temple.
The traffic police also could not stop them from travelling by the overloaded tractors. Some people even dare to reach the temple hanging by the overcrowded tractors.
Local have no option but to use tractors or small vehicles to reach the temple. Number of devotees visiting the temple from Sarlahi district have swollen from Tuesday, traffic police office of Nawalpur said.
Similarly, Two persons were killed and 14 others were injured when a pickup motor van met a road accident at Bardibash in Mahottari district on Wednesday.
The van was carrying pilgrims to their home in Dhanusha from Gadhimai festival in Bara district.
Among the total injured passengers, four are critical condition, according to a police. The van with registration number Na 5 Kha 1227 was coming to Janakpur from Gadhmai.
The van met the accident while it was giving a side to a truck. The deceased were identified as Sakuntala Devi Sah, 80, of Dhanushadham Muncipality-2 and 70-year-old Bartaniya Mahato of Bihar, India, according to the District Police Office.
In the accident, Kabita Kumar Mahato, 27, and Nisha Mahato, 18, of Dhanushadam Municipality were critically injured. They were rushed to Dharan-based hospital, according to Superintendent of Police Shyam Babu Adhikari.
Similarly, Amrita Kumari Mahato, 12, Hari Narayan Sah, 62, Ram Dulari Mahato, 51, Sokita Kumari Singh, Shiva Kumari Kaapar, Bimal Kumari Sah, 12, and Chandreshwore Sah, among others, were injured.
The injured passengers were receiving treatment in Dharan and Janakpur State Hospital.
