Kathmandu, Dec. 30: The visiting Chinese delegation Tuesday invited former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba to participate in a special function to be organised on the centenary of the establishment of the Chinese Communist Party.
The Chinese delegation led by Guo Yezhou, Vice Minister of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party, which landed in Kathmandu on Sunday, called on Deuba at his Budhanilkantha-based residence and handed over the invitation to him today
Guo also conveyed the goodwill message of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Deuba.
On the occasion, the Chinese delegation lauded the One-China policy adopted by the government in Nepal.
The delegation also reminded Deuba of the good relations Nepal and China enjoyed when the Nepali Congress leaders were leading the governments, according to Deuba’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Dr. Dinesh Bhattarai.
The visiting team recalled that the bases of Nepal-China relations were prepared when B. P. Koirala was leading the government in Nepal.
On the occasion, party president Deuba appreciated the Chinese support in Nepal’s development endevour and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
