By Lucky Chaudhary, Kathmandu, Jan. 8: Prime Minister and Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) KP Sharma Oli has made it clear that he would not let democracy, for which he struggled for 50 years, to be in danger.
Addressing the mass gathering of the NCP Oli faction in Sudurpaschim Province in Dhangdhi on Friday, Prime Minister Oli said, "As I have struggled for a long time to bring democracy and republic system in the country, I request everyone to not think that I would let our democracy be under threat."
Stating that decision to dissolve the House of Representatives (HoR) and collect the fresh mandate was taken after some people did not let the government work in favour of the nation and citizens, the Prime Minister said, "As per the international practices and constitution, the HoR cannot be reinstated in anyways. Thus, the new House will be formed only via election."
He also called everyone to prepare for the election campaigns as the election would take place on the scheduled date.
Moreover, Prime Minister Oli said, "We need not take any action against the rebel. It would be enough if the citizens won't vote for them." He further requested everyone to cast votes for those who work in favour of the nation and citizens. "I request everyone to make suitable and eligible representatives win the election and I will take the responsibility of development," he said.
Stating that the developmental works carried out by the government were evident, Prime Minister Oli said that he was striving to carry out more developmental works.
On a different note, the Prime Minister also assured that the disputed lands in the border area including Kalapani, Limpiyadhura, and Lipu Lekh would be returned to Nepal respectfully. He also alleged that the fake nationalists were much worried about the new political and administrative map of Nepal which includes Kalapani, Limpiyadhura, and Lipu Lekh.
Likewise, stating that four ministers were appointed in a single cabinet in Sudurpaschim Province, Prime Minister Oli said, "This is a good opportunity for Sudurpaschim Province to carry out the developmental works."
