Rupandehi, Mar. 13 ;Chief Minister of state-5, Shankar Pokhrel, has said that the issue of finalizing the state capital was the common responsibility of all.
In a special address in today's meeting of the State Assembly, Chief Minister Pokhrel argued that the issue of declaring capital should be finalized addressing aspirations of people of all places.
He said, "The state assembly declares the capital. Let's forget what you told during election. Let us start discussion in order to finalize the matter from this session."
Saying it was necessary that people of Rapti Bheri have to know the feelings of the people of Lumbini area and vice versa, he urged the state lawmakers to talk less about advocating their places only.
The Chief Minister mentioned that activities related to agro, tourism, industry, social sector and infrastructure development have been forwarded in a systematic way.
Sharing the information that 28 per cent, out of total budget of the state, has been spent so far, CM Pokhrel stressed the need of making the development activities qualitative and sustainable.
He further said that there is no right to anyone to misuse nation's coffer, stating the government was ready to correct weaknesses.
Saying Information Technology Foundation and Infrastructure Development Authority have been formed to make state's activities systematic, the Chief Minister expressed the belief that the Foundation and Authority would help make the activities of information and infrastructure development sectors effective.
The State Public Service Commission has forwarded activities to appoint human resources, he added.
Chief Minister Pokhrel through state assembly appealed to the people not to gather in mass to be safe from coronavirus infection.
The meeting passed the proposal presented by Chief Minister Pokhrel, seeking consideration to send the bill designed to amend and integrate the laws related to service and facilities of office-bearers and members of local levels and bill designed regarding remuneration, service, condition and facilities of office-bearers of Public Service Commission to the Finance, Industry and Tourism Committee for clause-wise discussion.
Similarly, the meeting also passed the bill related to environment protection presented by Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Leela Giri, seeking consideration to send it at Agriculture, Forest and Environment Committee for clause-wise discussion unopposed.
