By Chitra Mijar, Sindhupalchowk, Jan. 19: Sindhupalchowk District Administration Office (DAO) imposed curfew after the locals created chaos while demonstrating against destruction of roadside infrastructures around Araniko Highway, Barhabise Bazaaar in Barabise Municipality-3, 4 and 9.
Issuing a press release on Sunday morning, DAO informed about imposing the curfew. As per the curfew order signed by Chief District Officer (CDO) Gomadevi Chemjong, the curfew would be imposed from 8:00 Am to 5:00 Pm.
The curfew is imposed in accordance to Section 3 (a) of Local Administration Act 1972, informed CDO Chemjong.
The curfew has been imposed from three meters east of Barhabise Bazaar to the Bhotekoshi bridge on the west and from Area Police Office on the north to Piskar and Chyamadevi road on the south.
The locals had been demonstrating before Barabise Municipality Office on Saturday. They had decided to lock out the Office at 9: 00 Am on Sunday.
Hemanta Shrestha, a local said that the Municipality had started destructing the infrastructures in a biased manner.
