CPN-UML central committee meeting
By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 25: The central committee meeting of the ruling CPN-UML has decided to conduct an awareness campaign regarding the COVID-19 pandemic at local levels to help those infected with the virus.
The meeting of the central committee held today at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar took the decision to this effect.
Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, the spokesperson of the party, said, "The Prime Minister as directed to run the campaign in coordination with all district-level COVID-19 crisis management centres to generate awareness about safety precautions amid pandemic and to install help desks in all districts."
He added that Prime Minister Oli also directed to use the oxygen plants in full capacity and expand the vaccination drive.
"Even though the infection rate is increasing massively, the government is not in favour of imposing lockdown for now. In order to prevent the impact of shutdowns on the nation's economy, lockdown may be imposed in the hotspot areas," said Gyawali.
Moreover, a review of the current situation of the party was done in the meeting, he added.
