COVID recovery rate reaches 94.3%

Kathmandu, July 4: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Saturday confirmed 1,527 new cases of COVID-19, detected through PCR test, bringing the nationwide COVID-19 tally to 643,580.
Further, another 801 cases were detected from antigen tests in the past 24 hours. With this, the total confirmed cases from past 24 hours are 2,328.
“Of the 5,837 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests carried out in the past 24 hours in the RT-PCR laboratories across the country, a total of 1,527 persons were found infected with COVID-19,” informed MoHP at today’s regular press briefing.
Likewise, 4,296 antigen tests were performed in the last 24 hours. Thus, from the total 10,133 tests today, 2,328 new cases were detected.
Of today’s new cases in the Kathmandu Valley, the highest 246 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 81 in Lalitpur and 49 in Bhaktapur.
Currently, there are 27,716 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which 3,041 are admitted to various institutional isolation while the remaining 24,675 patients are placed in home isolation. Of the active patients, 627 are
admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 181 are under treatment with the ventilator facility. Only 295 people are under quarantine.
According to MoHP’s latest data, 17 districts across the nation currently have more than 500 active cases of COVID-19. The number of active cases is higher among people aged between 20 to 60 years.
Meanwhile, 3,066 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. With this, Nepal’s national recovery tally has reached 606,666 and the recovery rate stands at 94.3 per cent.
MoHP on Wednesday added 19 fatalities to the nation's COVID-19 death toll. Nepal's COVID-19 death toll is currently 9,198.
Nepal has so far conducted a total of 3,363,666 RT-PCR tests and 200,992 antigen tests since January last year.
