COVID-19 update: 3,309 new cases, 3,844 recoveries, 30 deaths in last 24 hours

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 4: With 3,309 new cases of novel coronavirus confirmed on Wednesday, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has spiked to 182,923. 

"In 13,144 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as persons were found with the SARS-CoV-2 infection," informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in the press briefing.

Currently, there are 36,911 active cases of COVID-19 of which 6,780 are receiving treatment in institutional isolation and 30,131 are in home isolation. Some 1,305 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.

Of the active patients, 379 are admitted to the ICU and 78 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility.

Meanwhile, some 3,844 COVID-19 patients either receiving treatment in various health facilities or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. With this, Nepal has recorded 144,878 cases of recoveries until now and the recovery rate stands at 78.2 per cent.

Moreover, 30 persons succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. This is the highest single-day fatalities recorded by the nation until now. Nepal's COVID-19 death toll has now reached 1,034.
