By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 5: With 3,051 new cases of novel coronavirus confirmed on Thursday, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has spiked to 185,974.
"In 13,068 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 3,051 persons were found with the SARS-CoV-2 infection," informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily update.
Currently, there are 36,514 active cases of COVID-19 of which 6,940 are receiving treatment in institutional isolation and 29,574 are in home isolation. Some 1,232 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Of the active patients, 428 are admitted to the ICU and 74 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility.
Meanwhile, some 3,430 COVID-19 patients either receiving treatment in various health facilities or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. With this, Nepal has recorded 148,408 cases of recoveries until now and the recovery rate stands at 79.8 per cent.
Moreover, 18 persons succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal's COVID-19 death toll has now reached 1,052.
