Dolpa, March 31: A total of 132 people who returned the district from outside during a nationwide lockdown against coronavirus have been quarantined bearing in mind the increased risk of infection.
They are being kept at quarantine in Thulibheri and Tripurasundari municipalities and Buddha Dolpo rural municipality, said Dolpa's Chief District Officer Suresh Sunar. Of them, 75 are from Thulibheri municipality. The lowest two are in home quarantine in Tripurasundari.
Similarly, an isolation facility has been readied at three locations in Jagadulla rural municipality. Ward chair Narasingh Rokaya said 11 isolation beds were ready in view of the heightened risk of infection.
Two employees of the Shey Phoksundo National Park have been admitted to the isolation in the District Hospital, Dolpa. According to hospital doctor Sijan Rawal, they had arrived at the district before lockdown. However, the District Health Service here faces a shortage of personal protection equipment (PPE) and other medical equipment required in the treatment of coronavirus, said CDO Sunar.
