Number of COVID-19 fatalities below 10 in 31 districts, zero in 10 districts

By Keshab Raj Poudel, Kathmandu, Dec. 17: As of Tuesday evening, Nepal has recorded a total of 1,730 COVID-19 related fatalities.

Of the total 1,730 deaths, the highest number of deaths-447 have been recorded in Kathmandu itself. Meanwhile, 10 districts of the country have not recorded COVID-19 fatalities until now.

Moreover, 31 districts have reported less than 10 COVID-19 related deaths and 38 districts have reported more than 10 cases of COVID-19 fatalities.

Of the 209 people infected with the novel coronavirus in Khotang, 201 have already defeated the infections while eight are under treatment. The district has not recorded a single fatality due to COVID-19 until today.

Likewise, the COVID-19 death toll of Taplejung is also at nil. Of the 152 cases of COVID-19 recorded in the district, only 33 are receiving treatment in institutional isolation or are staying in home isolation while the remaining patients have already recovered from the infection.

Manang is the only district with zero active cases of COVID-19. All five persons infected with the virus in the district have already recovered.

Moreover, of the 109 COVID-19 patients in Rukum (East), 102 have already defeated the infection while seven are under treatment with zero fatalities.

Jajarkot also falls under the list of districts with no COVID-19 deaths. There are only four active cases in the district and 108 have already recovered.

Likewise, Jumla, Mugu, Salyan, Dadeldhura, and Baitadi also have not recorded any cases of COVID-19 related deaths until now. Currently, there are only 27 active cases of COVID-19 in Jumla, four in Mugu, 12 in Salyan, 76 in Dadeldhura, and 68 in Baitadi.

Less than 10 COVID-19 fatalities in 31 districts

A total of 31 districts in Nepal have recorded less than 10 COVID-19 related deaths until now.

Nine districts, Bajura, Bajhang, Doti, Humla Dolpa, Dolpa, Rauwa, Sankhuwasabha, and Panchthar have recorded only one case of COVID-19 related death.

Likewise, the number of COVID-19 fatalities in Rukum (West), Kalikot, Mustang, Parbat, Solukhumbu, and Bhojpur is at two. As many as three persons each have succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in Rolpa and Baglung.

Darchula, Achham, Dailekh, Myagdi, and Okhaldhunga have recorded four deaths, and Pyuthan, Lamjung, and Illam have recorded five COVID-19 deaths as of today.

Similarly, six fatalities have been recorded in Palpa and Sindhuli, seven in Arghakhanchi, Nawalparasi (East), and Ramechhap, nine in Udayapur, and 10 fatalities have been recorded in Syangja.  

36 districts with more than 10 fatalities

Moreover, 36 districts have recorded over 10 cases of COVID-19related deaths of which, 34 deaths were recorded in Jhapa, 65 in Morang, 75 in Sunsari, 54  in Parsa, 29 in Bara, 19 in Mahottari, 17 in Rautahat, 18 in Sarlahi, 21 in Siraha, 447 in Kathmandu, 13 in Nuwakot, 29in Kavre, 97 in Bhaktapur, 60 in Chitwan, 33 in Makwanpur, 12 in Dolakha, 137 in Lalitpur, 20 in Dhading, 14 in Sindhupalchowk, 73 in Kaski, 13 in Gorkha, 21 in Tanahun, 18 in Kapilvastu, 10 each in Syangja and Gulmi, 34 in Dang, 20 in Nawalparasi, 12 in Bardiya, 37 in Banke, 70 in Rupandehi, 14 in Shurkhet, 10 in Kanchanpur and 30 deaths have been recorded in Kailali.
