Kathmandu, Dec 18: The counting of votes of the central members (35 from the open category) is starting from today of the election held on Monday under the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress. The counting of votes will start at 10 am at the party's central office in Sanepa.
The Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) has urged every candidate to present him/herself or one of his/her representatives at the vote counting station. Altogether 99 candidates are competing for 35 posts of central members (open category). The counting of votes of other party office bearers has been completed on Friday.
A total of 487 candidates had filed nominations for 134 posts including office bearers and members of the Congress Central Working Committee. The Congress had 4,743 delegates attending the general convention.
