Kathmandu, Sept. 3: Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal has said that all the three tiers of government should collaborate effectively with each other to contain and control the spread of COVID-19.
Speaking at a virtual meeting with the Social Development Ministers of all the States on Wednesday, Minister Dhakal said that all levels of government should collaborate with each other to develop working strategies to contain the virus.
Minister Dhakal stressed the need for generating awareness on adopting the precautionary measures. He said that as there was no any medicine or vaccine available to treat the COVID-19, only option to avoid it was to adopt the precautionary measures. For this, State and local governments should play a special role, added Minister Dhakal.
Minister Dhakal said that the allowance and insurance would be provided to those working in the frontline until the COVID-19 exists.
The laboratories of the government have been developed with the capacity of testing 18,500 samples a day, said Minister Dhakal, adding that arrangement would be made to get the tests results within a day.
Minister Dhakal said that the government had planned to operate 300-bed infectious hospital in the centre and 50-bed hospital in each State.
The government has already provided Rs. 380 million to each local level through the State governments to establish isolation centre, he added.
