Rajapur, Dec 17 : Cold wave has started affecting the life in Western Terai districts including Bardiya.
Cold has significantly increased with the presence of thick fog till late morning. School and college students, teachers and workers are finding it very hard to go with daily activities while children and the aged people have been affected the most by the adverse weather due to increased risk of pneumonia and other pulmonary diseases.
Locals are seen taking help of bonfires to avoid chilling cold. Yam Prasad Sharma of Madhuwan, Bardiya said though brief sunshine is seen at daytime, life in the morning and evening has become difficult.
Cold wave has its implications on winter vegetable crops as well, said local farmer Jayram Chaudhary.
