Kathmandu, Dec 25: Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun has extended his best wishes to all Christian Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad for their happiness, prosperity, good health, long life and progress.
In a message today on the occasion of Christmas Day, Vice-President Pun hoped that this festival would establish mutual harmony, social unity and fraternity among all Nepalis.
Saying the secular nation, Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious, multi-cultural and geographically diverse country, he recalled that religious and cultural festivals have been contributing to making national unity stronger by maintaining social unity, harmony and religious tolerance.
VP Pun expressed concern over recent distortions in religious and cultural festivals and requested to celebrate festivals in a cost-effective manner.
Noting experts are warning that the resurgence of a global pandemic of COVID-19, might also pose threat to Nepal as well, he urged all to pay attention to experts' advice and celebrate the festivals by adopting stipulated health safety protocols.
