Rupandehi, Dec 25 : State-5 Chief Minister Shanker Pokharel has expressed his best wishes to all brothers and sisters belonging to Christian religious community at home and abroad for their peace and good health.
In a message delivered on Tuesday on the occasion of Christmas, he said Nepali society is diverse from religion, language, culture and ethnicity perspectives and the festive celebration of particular community has also become the part of another fraternity.
"Religion and culture are not the proprietary of particular ethnic groups and communities. Widening ownership and respect from others is the epitome of unity in diversity", he said.
The Nepal Constitution has respected the space of all religions and communities, he noted, adding the implementation of the statute would enable environment for all to enjoy the rights in practice.
Meanwhile, Gandaki State Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung in his Christmas message expressed his belief that the celebration of different festivals in Nepal would help strengthen social unity and sense of brotherhood.
He also extended his best wishes to all Christian religious people for their peace, happiness and prosperity.
The Chief Minister in his message said the constitution has made the country secular and it would help keep the national unity intact by maintaining religious tolerance. ---
