Melamchi, May 19: The Government of China has provided medical assistance worth Rs 10 million to Sindhupalchowk district.
The Nyalam County in China today handed the assistance to a government team also comprising Sindhupalchowk Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal at the Miteri Bridge along the Nepal-China border in the district.
In a border security meeting few days ago, CDO Dhakal had urged for the assistance which includes 130,000 disposable masks, 1,500 N-95 masks, 100 sets of personal protection equipment (PPE), 108 infrared thermometer and 1,500 testing kits, according to Customs Office Chief Lal Bahadur Khatri.
The medical equipment are essential in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The materials will be kept in the District COVID-19 Disaster Management Fund.
A four-member Chinese team was there at the Miteri Bridge for the handover the assistance package.
