By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 3: China has handed over an additional 1.6 million doses of the Vero Cell vaccine.
Chinese ambassador to Nepal You Hanqi handed over the said amount of vaccine to Health and Population Minister Birodh Khatiwada amidst a programme held at the Health Ministry today.
Talking to TRN Online, Dr. Krishna Prasad Paudel, spokesperson of the Health Ministry, quoted Health Minster Khatiwada as saying in the programme that the supply of vaccines against China has added a new milestone in the age-old Nepal-China relationship.
So far, 3.4 million doses of vaccine have arrived in Nepal from China provided by China as grant assistance while Nepal has purchased 5.9 million doses of vaccine under COVAX cost sharing, of which over a million has been delivered while the remaining is in the process of delivery from China, according to MoHP spokesperson Paudel.
