Cervical cancer screening facility available at municipal hospital

Urlabari, Aug. 7: The Department of Health has provided cervical cancer screening machine to the Municipal Hospital of Pathari Shanishchare Municipality. The department has provided Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) screening machine for identifying precancerous cells through the screening.

Similarly, the National Innovation centre has also provided three oxygen concentrators to the hospital for the treatment of COVID-19 and other patients.
Leader of the centre, Dr. Mahavir Pun handed over the equipment to Dilip Kumar Rai, Mayor of the Municipality.

Similarly, an agreement has been reached between the Municipality and the Ministry of Health and Population to add more health professionals for operating a 15-bed municipal hospital.
The municipality has received seven programmes and schemes under the initiative of the federal government and development agencies. Mayor Rai has taken the initiative to bring programmes by meeting with the officials of the ministry and organsations in Kathmandu.

With an aim of introducing a progarmmme to encourage youth in entrepreneurship, the Municipal Office also reached an agreement with the Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries.
Likewise, the municipality has also signed an agreement with the office of the city development fund for the construction of a shopping complex.
The construction work would be carried out in such a way that the fund will bear more and the Municipality will bear fewer amounts, said Mayor Rai.
In addition, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has agreed to provide a cargo truck and a tractor through the Ministry of Federal Affairs.
