Kathmandu, July 21: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the founding leader of the Nepali Congress, the late Bishweshwor Prasad Koirala, was not only his political guru but also a guardian.
In a message given on the occasion of the 49th BP Memorial Day today, PM Deuba said they gave themselves to the movement for the establishment of democracy through BP's inspiration.
He said today his memory has reverted four decades back to the closeness of the late BP Koirala and that the late BP's guidance would be the lifelong inspiration for him.
PM Deuba paid tribute to the towering figure of Nepal's democracy movement and the Nepali Congress' founding leader.
The 39th Memorial Day of Nepal's first people-elected Prime Minister, BP Koirala, is being observed throughout the country today by organising various programmes commemorating his contribution to ushering in democracy in the country.
Born on 1971 BS, BP Koirala had died on Saun 6, 2039 BS.
