Bhaktapur, Jan 21 : Counting of birds has been started in the Changunarayan forest, where a huge number of species of birds are supposed to have stayed.
Assistant Professor of Tribhuvan University (TU) Kamal Raj Gosain has led a team for the bird census in the areas of Muhanpokhari of Changunarayan.
The team consists of master’s level students and PhD scholars of environmental science and representatives from Birds Conservation Association.
According to Gosain, a total of 53 species of birds are found in this area of Changunarayan and added that studies on more species of birds will also be conducted.
Gosain shared that the bird census and studies would be held in other forest areas of Bhaktapur as well.
