By Chitra Mijar, Sindhupalchowk, July 10: The locals of Barhabise have started leaving their houses after the flood in Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi Rivers, triggered by incessant rainfall since two days, started to enter their houses.
The locals of Khorsanabari, Barhabise Municipality-3 have started to shift in safer places while Barhabise Bazaar and Ramche Bazaar of Barhabise-4 and 9 are in higher risk.
Kamal Lama, a local of Barhabise-9 said, "The flood has entered our homes, compelling us to shift to a safer place."
The locals of Ramche Bazaar said that lack of preparedness to prevent the flooding during winter season had invited the disastrous flooding.
The flooding of Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi River has left Lamosanghu Bazaar, Khadichaur Bazaar, Amaltar, Kothe and Balefi in high risk.
Raju Shrestha, a local of Balefi Rural Municipality-8 said that 15 houses of Lamosanghu Bazaar could be swept away by the flood. The plumb line and fences used to protect the Bazaar has already been washed away.
Over 150 houses of Khadichaur, Balefi Rural Municipality-7 have been swept away by the flood in the Sunkoshi River. The locals of Khadichaur also have started shifting to a safer place.
The water level of Sunkoshi is still on the rise due to incessant rainfall. The District Administration Office has asked the locals to stay alert.
