Flights at Bharatpur Airport are to be suspended for ten days beginning coming December 1 for runway maintenance works.
The Civil Aviation Authority, Bharatpur said fights would come to a halt till December 10 for runway overlay works and the widening of a parking lot. According to Office chief Pawan Kumar Gautam, runway overlay works could not take place for the past around 20 years, causing problems in its service.
This time is chosen for the maintenance as the Office wants to complete it before the commencement of Visit Nepal Year-2020, it is said.
Five aircrafts each of Buddha and Yati airlines provide service on the Bharatpur-Kathmandu route and one aircraft of each companies fly along the Bharatpur-Pokhara route every day.
The airport which spreads in around 62 bigha of land has a runway with 12,000 meters length and 30 meters breadth.
