Kathmandu, Dec 23 : A bus hit a student at the Chabahil-based Pashupati Multiple Campus to death near Sukedhara Chowk this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Shristi Panta, 21 who was severely injured after being knocked down by the Bhaktapur-New Bus Park route bus ( Ba 4 Kha 5920) at around 5:30 am. Panta, a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS ) student at the Campus, later died in course of treatment at the Om Hospital, according to the Metropolitan Police Circle Gaushala. Police have arrested the driver.
The Pashupati Campus students enraged by the death of their colleague in the accident torched the bus involved in the accident. The vehicle was partially damaged in the fire. Following the accident, traffic at Chabahil, Sukedhara and Mitrapark area was disrupted for sometimes.
