Kathmandu, Sept 27: Bangladesh has entered the final of the third edition of SAFF U-18 football tournament underway in Nepal. In the first semifinal match held on Friday at the Halchowk-based Armed Police Force (APF) ground, Bangladesh beat Bhutan by 4-0 to secure its position in the final.
The Bangladesh team led the match since the second minute with Captain Yeasin Arafat hitting the goalpost and Mohammed Ahmed Fahim scored the second goal for the team in the 27th minute and it was Mohammad Maraz who made another goal for the team taking it ahead of its competitor by 3-4 in the 32nd minute. One more goal from Bangladesh had come in the last minute of second half by Dipok Roy, letting the team to enjoy an easy victory against Bhutan.
Earlier Bhutan had secured its place in the semi by becoming the winner from Group 'A' and Bangladesh had an opportunity to compete in the semi by becoming the first-runner up from Group 'B'. It will meet either India or the Maldives for the title. ---
