By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 20: Auditor General Tanka Mani Sharma today submitted the 58th report of the Auditor General to President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
The report showed that a sum of Rs. 44.39 billion remained as arrears in the total audited amount of Rs. 1555 billion, the expenditure of the Federal Government and its agencies in the fiscal year 2020/21.
Similarly, the Provincial governments incurred a sum of Rs. 6.5 billion as arrears in the total expenditure of Rs. 237 billion.
Likewise, the local governments recorded a sum of Rs. 40.8 billion as arrears in the expenditure of Rs. 815 billion in the last fiscal year.
Expenses of 699 local levels, 1019 offices of provincial governments, and 3079 offices and agencies of the Federal Government were audited last year, according to the report.
The total arrears recorded till FY 2020/21 is Rs. 418 billion.
