Sindhuplachok, Oct 11 : At least seven people were killed and over 50 others injured when a passenger bus skidded off the road and fell around 200 meters at Badahere Chowk of Bhotsipa in Indrawati rural municipality-10, Sindhupalchok, said the police. They died on the spot.
The death toll may increase as detail information of the accident is awaited, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Prasad Kafle. Many other passengers may have been crushed under the bus, said local resident Rajendra Acharya, adding that rescue efforts were about to take place with the help of a excavator.
The ill-fated bus (Ba 2 Kha 2715) belonging to Helambu Yatayat was headed to Kathmandu.
