Kathmandu, Aug. 9: Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand has assured to make the Armed Police Force well equipped with necessary manpower and resources.
Speaking at the convocation ceremony of APF Assistant Sub Inspectors on Sunday, Home Minister Khand also said that the government would help the Armed Police Force (APF) in expanding its Border Outposts to 500. Currently, there are 226 Border Outposts on the country’s border.

The programme was organised on the occasion of the completion of training for the Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASI) at APF Training Academy in Matatirtha, Kathmandu.
Minister Khand also awarded ASI Chandra Wali with a khukuri for being the best trainee. “The APF has been active in securing the border and rescuing people from disasters alongside saving many lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. People are expecting similar dedication from the APF in upcoming days,” said Khand.
Khand further stated that the government would provide as much support as it can to upgrade the APF.

“The APF has worked effectively despite the lack of enough manpower and resources. The government will do as needed to increase the manpower and upgrade the resources so the APF can provide better services,” Khand said. He also expressed condolences to the APF officers who received martyrdom for the country.
The training for the ASI had started since last year and was participated by a total of 61 officers, including 20 women.
The convocation prorgamme was also attended by Home Secretary Maheshwor Neupane, Inspector General of APF Shailendra Khanal, Inspector General of Nepal Police Shailesh Thapa Kshetri, Chief of National Investigation Department Ganesh Prasad Adhikari, and officers from Nepali Army as well.
